Ducks sign goalie Hiller to 4-year extension (AP)
The Anaheim Ducks signed Jonas Hiller to a four-year contract extension on Saturday, keeping the Swiss goaltender off the free-agent market this summer. The deal, which would run through the 2013-14 NHL season, is reportedly valued at $18 million. The 27-year-old Hiller joined the Ducks as a European free agent in May 2007.

The Anaheim Ducks have announced the signing of Jonas Hiller to a four-year, $18 million dollar contract extension.
For all purposes, this means the end of J.S. Giguere’s run in Anaheim.
The Ducks can’t afford to have two goalies signed on next season for over $10 million, especially when the starting goalie makes less.
